This is a submission we got through Amazon about magazine service. The english isn’t great but it is a nice overview of trends in magazines.
You must have come across many magazine subscriptions web sites where you can avail yourself of heavy discount opportunities online. Earlier discounts were given by mainstream publishers only. But now niche magazines have joined the bandwagon too. There have been a great spurt in “subscriber only” publications. The biggest beneficiary of these trends are trade journals. As the world has become a global village and is likely to open further once all the nations reach some understanding over WTO, subscription opportunity for magazine containing quality content will explode.
There is a paradigm shift in the magazine subscription services. The marketing of magazines have transformed and customer is the real king now. Publishing houses are devising various means to reach the readers. The decades old distribution systems are proving ineffective as the world has shrunk and the reader can be sitting in any part of the world. Thankfully the solution lies in the problem so various tools have come up which facilitate online magazine subscription offerings.
Publisher have categorised their subscription services and offer heavy discounts to students. There are various schemes for Academic Institutions, Libraries, and waiting rooms. Commercial establishments are not given discounts generally. However there are discount coupons which the subscriber can avail any time. A recent trend has emerged that is to give the subscription of your favorite magazine to someone who you think would love to read that. As most of the subscription options are available online now so subscribing has become very easy.
There are a number of reputed publications which has been able to garner huge subscription by offering smart gifts and monthly draw of mega prizes. Some have been able to garner such a huge number of subscription that if the local government permit they would go for local production. This is a win-win situation for publisher and subscriber both. Publisher pass on the discount to the readers which he would had to spend in the distribution channel. Readers gets whatever they like at their door step and they are able to save too.

We’ve been talking about home magazines for the last week or so and I think we are almost done profiling the benefits of Fine Homebuilding Magazine. In case you’ve missed recent postings this is a home improvement and home construction periodical put out by that prolific publisher The Taunton Press. In some sense it is devoted to professional builders and contractors. Interestingly enough though it turns out that FHM (I can say this now that the American version of FHM is out of business), has become a sort of inspiration for homeowners.
Even if you are a first time homebuilder you will find that this editor packed periodical is filled with one of the most impressive collections of home improvement and design articles in the market. If you look in a local public or school library, you should easily be able to find a copy. Besides picking them up at a newsstand, it totally pays to save money and order a full one year, 8 issue subscription for only $37.95 through an online magazine subscription service. Sometimes if you look hard enough you can even find promotional coupons for $5.00 off a subscription which gives you even more savings.
We are pretty big fans of Taunton Press because they put out other magazines like Fine Gardening and Fine Woodworking. Fine Homebuilding though is still one of their finer magazines and if you are spending any time on your house, then you should try it out and see how you can benefit from their creative and impressive ideas that will help you finish a project in the most efficient time!

So what would Oprah be talking about, and why would I want to read her magazine? It’s not like I have a subscription myself but since we sell it here at the super duper library subscription service known as MagMall I might as well write a few more things about the lady my wife watches every day on TV.
“O” is a magazine that creates a place to go to kick back and relax. There aren’t any articles on how to apply the newest makeup craze, how to dress for your man in all the expensive ways, or how to know if your partner is cheating on you. You also won’t find all the celebrity gossip or poor-pitiful-me stories.
Why is my O magazine collection waterlogged? Because when it’s time to hide from everybody and relax in the tub, it’s my reading material of choice. When I’m battle-weary from the day, it’s the one magazine that says, no, proclaims: “I’m good enough, I’m smart enough, and doggone it, people like me!” It helps me rise above the negativity inherent in our do-too-much world and lifts me to a higher mental state. This is between 194 to almost 300 pages of “recharge” time, pure and simple. Take this tour of the magazine, and you may soon find it to be a favorite of yours, too. You can order O The Oprah Magazine as a one year subscription for $24 (for twelve issues) through www.magmall.com (it’s the cheapest price in town!).
