How to remove Ice-Pick Scars
If you've ever wondered why a hideous scar covers your skin then you'll be shocked to learn that it's actually the body's way of protecting itself from danger.
A scar is formed when collagen arranges itself on a wound creating a thick band of protection. In short, a scar is your body's very own "band-aid", although not very attractive.
Because each body is different the healing process will vary. This means that the healing process in one individual may lead to severe scarring while in another there may be little or no scarring left after a wound has fully healed. However, once a scar has formed it may be either elevated or indented. In case you are one of the fortunate few that develop little or no scarring after a breakout, then it may be due to the development of comedogenic acne which isn't a scarring acne condition. However, if you do develop cystic pus-filled pimples then you are candidate for acne scarring. If this is the case then you need to take special care not to develop serious scars such as the dreaded ice-pick scars.
Ice pick scars appear deep and are very narrow. They develop after an infection from a deep inflamed blemish or cyst has worked its way towards the surface of the skin. This type of scar looks like a very large pore and is considered one of the worst types of scars because of the emotional affliction it causes its sufferer.
Unfortunately, there are a limited number of treatments available for this type of scar:
Punch excision and grafting: Deep ice pick scars can only be removed effectively through a surgical procedure. Larger scars can be removed and then filled with a skin graft. This implies that a piece of skin is taken from one area of the body that is not too visual and placed on the area that needs to be corrected. Once that is done the area is contoured with dermabrasion to blend it into the rest of the skin.
Laser resurfacing: This type of treatment gives you a soft and smooth skin surface by literally removing (lasering off) superficial areas of skin. This is a popular treatment, but a little expensive if you're trying to watch your cash flow.
Most people have gone through these treatments to no avail. What they don't know is that there is one more option that is both safe and effective and won't burn a hole in their pocket - natural acne scar removal treatments.
You may not believe that a topical cream can be as effective as dermabrasion, for example. And you may not even be able to grasp the idea of a natural product that can get rid of scars or that matter even treat an ice-pick scar, but Nature has never let you down before. But before purchasing just any natural product, make sure it contains a special natural ingredient called Helix Aspersa Muller Glycoconjugates which is a compound known to treat pitted acne scars, rolling scars and acne scarring. Don't forget - effective treatment is all about finding the right product.
