Identifying and Eliminating Rosacea Triggers

by Cyntia Alleyne

Even expert scientists have been stumped about rosacea for quite some time. While doctors are not sure about the root cause of rosacea, they have at least been able to identify several ways of relieving symptoms and avoiding further aggravations.

Having rosacea is certainly beyond your control, but you can improve your vulnerability levels by informing yourself about environmental risks and making efforts to avoid them.

Firstly, its important to recognize climate as a leading factor in causing rosacea breakouts. Confusingly, certain studies have suggested that UV ray exposure doesn't change rosacea patients' conditions. If you notice that your rosacea breakouts appear more frequently in the spring and summer, climatic exposures may be an issue for you and protective measures like applying sunscreen should be taken accordingly to reduce redness and irritation.

Climate's not my issue - what are other triggers?

Make a solid attempt to try and avoid extreme temperatures (hot or cold), excessive wind or sun, hot drinks, spicy foods, or any other edible or topical product that you have found causes flushing in your personal case. Be sure to use caution when researching skin care for rosacea so that you can avoid future flares.

Microbial Organisms are also thought to provoke facial rosacea symptoms. In the case that doctors have identified the Demodex organism living on your skin, they may have found out what is causing your rosacea as well. Be sure to rule out this factor with the help of your doctor in order to avoid worsening your condition. Consult him or her about further preventative measures and information on topical redness treatments.

Studies have also shown that an over-exposure or intake of certain chemicals, vitamins and minerals can be detrimental to your rosacea condition. Medical professionals insist that topical steroids, nasal steroids, amiodarone and over doses of vitamins B-6 and B-12 should be consumed with the uttermost caution. Again, reactions vary patient to patient, but each of the ingredients listed above has been found to cause flares up in certain people with rosacea.

Another factor commonly associated with rosacea breakouts is vasculature, or the increased flow of blood vessels to the face. Redness and flushing effects commonly attributed to rosacea are logically attributed to an increased quantity of blood cells have migrated to the surface of the face.

Despite the fact that scientists cannot trace the roots of rosacea, they do know how to treat it well now.

When seeking out answers to the question what is rosacea, be sure to investigate scientifically proven and innovative rosacea remedies like BIOBALM, a specially designed rosacea cream that prevents future rosacea breakouts and improves the appearance of facial redness on site.
