Is There an Answer to Melasma?

by Valerie DeVette

Have you often heard the word Melasma, but didn't really understand what it meant? Inform yourself about what melasma really is and how you can eliminate this embarrassing skin concern.

Melasma is often associated with the female hormones estrogen and progesterone. It is especially frequent in women that are expecting, females taking birth control pills and women taking hormone replacement therapy during menopause.

Sun exposure is also a strong risk factor for melasma. This is why this condition is especially common in tropical climates. Discoloration of skin or Melasma can start as large uneven patches on the nose, forehead and cheeks, and it can also appear on the lips.

The great news about melasma is that it is not a condition that is related to any health implications, danger or symptoms. As a matter of fact, the brown spots that once appeared will probably become lighter with time, especially if they first appeared when taking birth control pills or medication or when you were pregnant. Even though this is some good news, you must know that this skin condition can sometimes persist and it can be hard to get rid of, which is why it is important to use a product to prevent these pigmentation problems.

Get rid of Melasma

Prevent Sun Exposure - One of the most important things you can do to prevent melasma is to stay away from the sun and of course tanning booths.

Use SPF - Use a sun block cream every day.

Exfoliate - Use a gentle exfoliation balm made with natural ingredients.

Moisturize - You can also use a natural skincare treatment that will prevent and eliminate the problem. It is known that any cream that contains Rumex Extract (natural pigment reducer) is effective for hyper pigmentation problems.

Eat Healthy - Eat foods that contain antioxidants; broccoli, spinach, tomatoes and red pepper.

Start your melasma treatment now and improve your appearance with a natural skin treatment. BIOSKINREJUVENATION is a skin discoloration cream that contains the ingredient; Rumex Extract to inhibit and stabilize the melanin production in your skin making your complexion soft and most important of all - melasma-free!
