This one I am sure you have heard of, the chemical peel. Again this removes the top layers of the epidermis, but this time with acid. ACID. Redness and swelling is common after the procedure. Recovery time takes weeks. The acid causes stinging, redness, irritation and dryness. In addition you may have to go through it several times as it can take multiple treatments for desired results. Remember, acid is dangerous.

And last on the pain list, the punch method. In plain words it is like taking a hole puncher to your face. A cookie cutter-like tool is used to cut out individual scars, scooping them out of your face like ice cream. The procedure itself may leave a slight scar. Then the hole in your face can be filled with fat from another part of your body. After this treatment is complete, you might want to have your face burned with a laser or sand papered with dermabrasion, because the unevenness of the newly filled holes is ugly. Combing the treatments is popular. Recovery time takes several weeks longer than the other methods.

How to Avoid these Painful Procedures

And so, acne scar removal treatments can be more painful than actually living with the acne scars. A much more sensible and painless solution would be a strong acne treatment cream with a scar healing solution already in it. This makes much more sense.
