Rose Hip Oil and Beauty

by Clarita Miles

For years, rose hip oil has been used to take care of scars, dry skin and hair. For this reason, it is an important component in today's beauty and skin care products.

A Biological Source of Retinoic Acid

Rose hip oil is an important biological source of retinoic acid or Vitamin A. This acid acts by binding to certain cell receptors of skin after a topical use. After the cell receptors have been stimulated, there is a change in genetic expression, subsequent protein production, and cell growth and specialization.

Thus, the epidermal cells are modified increasing the reconstruction of damaged skin and the capacity to create new tissue as a result of an acceleration of the specialization of the keratin. These properties are also what make rose hip oil ideal for natural acne treatment.

Rose hip oil produces organical activity in the skin and mucous tissues of the mouth and nose when put directly to it. It stimulates metabolic changes in the skin by speeding up innate cellular growth in the epidermis (skin) without producing any side effects. Correctly administered, rose hip oil will minimize fine lines and cure your skin. Your future seems to be more beautiful.

Rose Hip Oil for Scars

Rose hip oil has shown its capacity to eliminate scars resulting from accidents, surgery and acne. Apply rose hip oil directly on any scar. When used on surgical scars, however, rosehip oil should be applied after the stitches have been removed and the wound is totally healed.

After cleansing the area, apply the oil on dry skin with a soft massage. The effects will be evident after 12 to 16 weeks. Skin will recover its elasticity and the color of the skin will improve significantly.

With older or deeper dermal scars, it will take longer to see any reactions. Results will also vary depending on the scar's location and the age of the person. To be an effective scar treatment method, two or more generous daily applications of rosehip oil are advised.

Rose Hip Oil for Hair Care

For hair care, rose hip oil can be used as a hot oil treatment for brittle, devitalized hair, or massaged into dry or flaking patches of the skin or scalp. Rose hip oil goes to work instantly to enhance texture and help stimulate healing.

Dermatologist tested, its mild pH (around 5.1) makes it ideal for direct use to the hair, scalp and skin.

Moisturizing Actions of Rose Hip Oil

Rose Hip Oil also attracts moisture to affected areas without over- treating "normal" skin. It can be used for seasonal dryness or after any physical activity to recover softness and tone. This product can also be used day and night. Rose hip oil is a perfect skin care medium.
