Dog Treats - Let Your Dog Enjoy

Dogs are considered to be more than pets for many of today's pet owners. They are often members of the family in many homes. We consider them to be our kids with fur, our babies, or our grand dogs. Dogs share our lives with us. We allow them to sleep in our beds, take them with us when we leave the house, and bring them along for vacation. Many dogs, just like our children, dress up for Halloween or find gifts under the tree and full stockings ready for them Christmas morning. Gourmet dog treats are also fed to many spoiled pets.

All natural and gourmet treats are increasing in popularity. Most find that dog treats made with ingredients that are similar to those we find in our own food a satisfying change from what is found in commercial brand dog treats that we buy from the stores. Many alternative natural pet diet advocates are extremely pleased with gourmet dog treats, as are pet owners who want nothing more than to give their pet a variety of delicious, nutritious snacks that look better, no matter what they feed their dogs on a daily basis.

Do you have a bakery that caters to pets in your town? These pet food bake shops are places that dogs and owners can go for fresh baked doggy cakes, brownies, and donuts in a variety of shapes, tastes, and sizes.

You can find the gourmet pet treats, which are natural and free of preservatives, packaged in little plastic bags or window boxes, at pet stores, gift boutiques, grocery stores, retail outlets as well as online. There are online gourmet pet food bakeries. Some businesses focus on dog treats, low calorie treats or treats made for pets that are sensitive to certain food.

A word of caution in case your dog is overweight. Even though gourmet dog treats are made with human quality, healthy ingredients, the calories and fat content can sometimes be quite high. If your dog has a weight problem, then check the ingredients and stick with the lower fat treats. Please note that treats should not make up more than 10 percent of a dog's daily diet.

If you are a baker by avocation, you can make wonderful doggie treats in your kitchen at home for much less than what you would pay in the store. There are almost certainly a lot of the ingredients for these dog food recipes on the shelves of your pantry right now, particularly if you bake breads regularly.

You mix them and bake them just as you would any other cookie, but the dough in the majority of dog biscuit recipes is generally thicker than in most cookies, which means baking times are increased. You may also want to try Flint River Ranch dog food for your pet.

Many pampered pooches are eating gourmet dog treats. If you like to pamper your dog with treats, consider baking some dog food recipes fresh. If you like to bake, you probably all ready have most of the ingredients on hand and can make your loved pet a treat that is healthier and also much less expensive.
