Hellgate London Review - Somebody Needed to Say It
This game had a lot of hype and a lot of people were looking forward to playing it. Unfortunately, there was a problem: The game didn't really live up to all that hype.
This is not to say that this online game review is here to bash this new game; it wasn't that bad. It just wasn't extraordinary. When a game is built up to be something big and exciting, you start anticipating an off-the-wall fantastic game, or at least something unique.
But the game wasn't amazing. It wasn't innovative. It doesn't even rate as awesome. It was fun, I'll give it that, and there were some exciting parts to it. It's a decent game that could have been a GREAT game if the rest of it was a lot more like those parts.
If you read another Hellgate London review, and it says that the game was amazing, or that it lived up to it's expectations, they will be lying. It's kind of like buttering up your girlfriend or boyfriend instead of telling them that they did something dumb, because you don't want their feelings to be hurt.
To be quite honest with you, the stats confused the fire out of me. How in the world do you keep track of a dizzying number of weapons, each with its own different damage-inflicting ability? Even so, it's pretty cool to see that it's possible to do different kinds of attacks.
But there is one really cool thing I'll note in this Hellgate London review: You can break down items in your inventory to conserve space, and you can pick up gold like crazy. Hey, it doesn't get any cooler than that. Don't forget, if it doesn't work out between you and Hellgate London, there are many other games to try.
